"Soup and A Friend"

I awoke this morning needing these two mainstays in my life today, a cup of tomato soup and a friend. Well, I'm happy to say I had both right underneath my nose, Vons Signature Cafe "Tuscan Tomato and Basil Bisque and a true friend, my husband Tom.

I can talk to Tom about anything and he always listens, then gives me the best (godly) advice. He'll even let me rant about the same thing again and again, but he never lets me sulk in self pity. I needed that hot cup of soup (more like a bowl) and most of all a true friend...my husband.

I'm such a blessed girl and I never want to take him for granted.

"Amazing"

That's exactly how I felt when I found this picture frame! So, as I approach this gigantic frame I have my fingers crossed that the price is right.

Well, it was but you can always hope for better (sometimes I'm good at bargaining and sometimes I'm not.) Actually, after getting the sales girl permission to hop in the window to find out what the price was, we discovered there was no price!

I hate when you're thrifting and there's no price on something, you ask and they start with the uh... um...  Now, I'm praying please don't let the price be ridiculous because I showed an interest. So, thank you sales lady because she gave me a reasonable price compared to what she could've guessed.

This is going to make a fabulous chalkboard piece and when I'm finished and it's going to hard to let this piece go to the shop.

Please come back for the unveiling because it's going to be "Amazing" I promise and check out this amazing post by Ryan at "The Blooming Thread" Featuring chalk artist Dana Tanamachi. Her talent is amazing, too!

Until next time.... The Blue Farmhouse.

"Saturday Night Special"

Well my dear husband is at it again and I'm starting to believe he likes a project as much as I do. In fact, I know that he does and sometimes what he thinks would be nice occasionally misses the mark. But lately, he's been on target with what I might like.

So, guess what I'm going to do tomorrow morning? I'm going to Pottery Barn to choose a lampshade that's going to make this re purposed lamp look like new.

However, unlike the "Humble Lil Bench" this lamp shade when finished will be going to my shop in Sweet Repeats".

I'm anxious to hear your comments about this little find. Until next time happy thrifting.

I still need to do a little aging process, but I think it's looking pretty good. I'll try to remember and take more pictures when it reaches it's final destination. Will it be my home or shop space?

"Humble Lil' Table"

My vision for this newly repurposed table is exactly where I have it sitting right now... by the front door. Don't you think it's perfectly suited for a place to pause and drop the day's mail onto or sit your tote bag down or just as it stands right now (simple and purposeful).

My husband found it for a ridiculously low price and thought I could put it in my shop space. But I think for now I'll leave it right where it is...at least for a little while.

What do you think? Leave me a comment and until next time happy hunting.

"Good Morning...Wednesday"

Starting my day as usual with a hot cup of brew in one of my "new" favorites. This cup was one of my finds at the Pasadena Rose Bowl Flea Market and I love it.

In fact, I uncluttered my kitchen counters of all my beautiful plates and ironstone leaving only the coffeemaker and this blue and white cup.

Also, this is a good morning because I have a new follower from a blog that I just love......thanks Tracey from French Larkspur.

     Sincerely,

"Thrift Store Finds"

Just a couple of photos of my latest thrift store finds. I actually had the seagull lamp in the garage waiting to find the perfect lampshade.

And my husband actually found the lampshade at the same thrift store that I had originally purchased the lamp. So, as you can see I have since removed from the garage and now it proudly sits in the family room. I'm glad I decided not to sell this unique lamp because it adds a masculine touch an otherwise very feminine styled home. Hooray for hubby!

Finally, I found these 5 canisters and (you guessed correctly) this beautiful color of blue was what caught my attention. I'm thinking about selling them in my space at "Sweet Repeats" because I have so much stuff and I need to edit, edit and edit some more. But for now I took a couple of pictures and placed them into storage.

Hope you enjoy and until next time go thrifting because you never know what you may find!
