That's what I'm talkin' bout... this is not an idiom, but the above phrase fits the bill! Did I just use another idiom?[chuckling to myself]...Anyway an idiom is a characteristic mode of expression (e.g., raining cats and dogs, see the light). It is also defines as a group of words established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words.
In other words I'm going to take this unique piece [with its' linear lines and 3 dimensional moldings] and transform it into a beautiful sign that can be used indoors or outdoors. And these are the steps I will take:

1. Paint until thoroughly covered.
2. Slightly sand lines, corners and moldings to give the piece an aged appearance.
3. Replace mirror with a piece of chalk board.
4. Remove long metal pieces and make into free standing sign.
