"A Most Beautiful Day"

It was indeed a beautiful morning to celebrate a very special occasion... as our new Mom and Dad prepare for the soon arrival of their baby girl. I was thrilled that she asked to use some of my frames for the baby shower and even happier to share these images with you.

"Frame Heaven"

Yes this is what I call these glorious finds..."Frame Heaven"  and each time I find one I giggle and jump up and down! I'm super excited that this new Mom-to-be and friend selected a couple of these converted old frames for her upcoming baby shower.

There's still many that I need to redo and I'll be sure to take some photos so that you can view the beautiful results. If you're needing some beautiful converted frames for your special occasion and live in the area leave me a comment please.

"Little Finds....Great Styling"

I don't like the thought of thrifting and having nothing to show for my efforts. However, I avoid falling into the trap of buying something just to buy it. So after sharpening my focus this is what was found and I have a perfect plan to utilize them.

The silver water pitcher has an engraved monogrammed on the front (not in view) and I plan to use for a baby shower tea hosted by a coworker for her sister.  And the beautiful elongated basket will get a new paint job (white or blue) then hang on the front door with some beautiful flowers inside....it's going to be pretty!

I'm in the planning stages of creating a small event rental business using my beautiful dishes and tableware, glassware, sideboards, tables, ornate chalkboards and more for garden parties, bridal showers, tea parties, wedding receptions, and more. As for right now it's fun just collecting, dreaming and planning for something more.

Until next time happy collecting and thrifting....

"Candelabras or Sconces?"

What's a girl to do when you keep finding theses...I'm not even sure what they are called? I wish there was a place to hang them in my home, so until then I'll keep collecting and eventually sell a couple.

Once again thank you for dropping by...until next time happy collecting and thrifting.

"Just Because"

Not all collectibles are created equal...some are what I call just because...and these little pink baby shoes fit the bill. I bought them just because they're so stinking cute and so is Painted Toe.

Until next time The Blue Farmhouse.

Sugar and spice,
And everything nice,
That's what little girls are made of.

"A Big Find"

It was an anxious, quiet, and seemingly longer drive to our destination while hoping to arrive before the thrift store closes. And adding to my anxiety...will it be there or did I just waste my gas and time? Upon arrival I jump out of the car, rush up a flight of stairs...it's here!

Thanks to Kim at Savvy Southern Style for sharing about her rare ironstone find that prompted me to go back and purchase this bowl. Is it ironstone or buffalo china? I'm no sure but there's no chips and the crazing adds so much character.  I'll need to do some investigating but, regardless of the status it's a keeper and to think it only cost me $20.

I want to thank you dropping by and welcome any information or thoughts that you might have on it's origins.
