"Twinkle, Twinkle, Sparkly Finds"

Vintage black ear clips surrounded by rhinestones and coin purse

Vintage silver arm cuff and a sparkling cuff (with lots of jewels)

Homer Laughlin pitcher

Just a few "unexpected" treasures that found their way into my home as well as my heart...and eventually my wardrobe. I paid $3 for the silver cuff and $6 for the sparkling one, $4 for the pair of black earrings (use later on pillows), $1 for vintage coin purse, and $3 for the Homer Laughlin pitcher...all totaling with tax less than $20.00!

Not to bad for a lunch break and a quick stop into a thrift store...

"House Beautiful...Sneak Preview"

 Welcome... Let the tour begin

I'm excited to introduce you a 'new' friend and happy that she's allowing my camera into her beautiful home. These are just a few images that I took from the outside because she was ill today.

This lady needs no stylist...there's beauty everywhere...lots of antiques and one of a kind finds. Honestly her home should be in a magazine and to think that she'd knocked on my door to see what's inside my house...well I was flattered until she opened her door....

You don't want to miss this....

"Happy Sunday"

I Would Pick More Daisies

Don Herold (Adapted)

When the late Nadine Stair of Louisville, Kentucky, was 85 years old, she was asked what she would do if she had her life to live over again.

"I'd make more mistakes next time," she said. "I'd relax. I would limber up. I would be sillier than I have been on this trip. I would take fewer things seriously. I would take more chances. I would climb more mountains and swim more rivers. I would eat more ice cream and less beans. I would perhaps have more actual troubles, but I'd have fewer imaginary ones.

"You see, I'm one of those people who live sensibly and sanely hour after hour, day after day. Oh, I've had my moments, and if I had to do it over again, I'd have more of them. In fact, I'd try to have nothing else. Just moments, one after another, instead of living so many years ahead of each day. I've been one of those persons who never goes anywhere without a thermometer, a hot water bottle, and a raincoat. If I had to do it over again, I would travel lighter than I have.

"If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall. I would go to more dances. I would ride more merry-go-rounds and I would pick more daisies."

A lovely day

...And it's been that kind of day! Until next time happy collecting, and here's to picking more daises.

"Great Legs"

As strange as this may sound I admit that a 'huge' criteria for a yes or no date (many moons ago) was how did a guys hands and feet look! Okay stay with me now (laughing)...because it's my number one influence when hunting for old tables. So by now you're probably thinking have you lost your mind? And the answer is yes I have... not for hands and feet rather beautiful legs!

Did you know that some legendary stars like Tina Turner and Sharon Stone are known for their legs?  Who would've even imagined that stars have insurance policies on theirs... I guess different strokes for different folks...but I like curvy, intricate and ornate legs on my tables and the one I just found doesn't disappoint.

I'm going to start the painting process today and do hope that you'll return for the final results. Until next time happy collecting, thrifting and one more thing..."Ain't she got legs..not Tina but my table!

Form Versus Function?

Me...The Blue Farmhouse

I'm curious to know how many of us...that's collectors, thrifters and do-it-yourself decorators actually use the lovelies we find or are they for display only? In part I think the answer certainly is both...we use them and when they aren't then it's pure 'eye candy'!

I love to entertain my friends as often as I can but my home is certainly 'lived' in as well. So I leave you with a couple of functional finds I discovered for my home over the weekend... and a quote I keep with me so that I don't get overwhelmed in the process...

A cute white eyelet lined (removable) laundry basket

Rhodes Party Bucket from Pottery Barn

Two arm chairs that match the others I had already

"A Hope And A Prayer"

Pinterest image

Okay I'm leaving my house really early in the morning in hopes of finding an old hutch, armoire and I would love, love, love to find a table like this beauty. Wait...I think I can hear my sweet husband ask...where will you put it honey? And you know what my reply is...I'll figure it out later!

Wish me luck.

Happy collecting, thrifting and finding beauties like this one.

"I Love You"

(A favorite photo of mine)

Ryan always encourages me, inspires me, and pushes me to dream and dream big. In 2013 we visited The Remnants of The Past Vintage Show as shoppers...and it was here that I thought I could do something like this and you quickly agreed. The following year a dream was realized that weekend as vendors...the first big show!

You lift me up and sometimes aggravate me past my fears and I simply want to say...I love you and thank you!

I encourage you to check out her beautiful blog The Blooming Thread, as well as her Etsy shop. And you can let her know that her Mom sent you there...she won't mind.

You lift me up...
