"Sweet Sweet Sweet Inspiration"

Pure inspirational

While browsing through Barnes & Nobles bookstore I had in mind to gift our oldest daughter with a special something instead of a typical birthday card and I found this book. Needless to say it was a perfect gift. In fact so beautiful I gave myself permission to purchase one just for me.

The name "bella Grace" not only is descriptive of whom the gift was intended but it's compiled of sweet sayings, thought provoking questions and inquiries that make you appreciative of the beauty all around me. This spoke volumes to ....

Love Letter to Your Home ~page 137~

It's so easy to get carried away daydreaming about
a shiny new house, or adding space to your existing place.
Home is a sacred place for many, and it's important to embrace
where you live, whether you live in a tiny studio apartment, or
a sprawling multi-level house on an expanse of land. Right now,
look past the leaky faucets, or the chipped paint. Write a love letter
to your house, sharing all the good that is to be found in it.

     Mine would read

Dear Home,

...At least I have one

"Back In The Saddle"

I'm back in the saddle again
I'm back
I'm back in the saddle again
I'm back

Ridin' high
Ridin' high

Old saddle

and some extras

Old song...old saddle and I think a fabulous find. I purchased the faux fur throw from Marshalls with the idea of 'softening' the look of the old leather. This is my version of Green Acres (I loved watching that old television show) meets Blue Farmhouse style.

Now just to give it a good cleaning and find myself a barn (wishful thinking)...but you never know...Right?

So until next time happy, collecting, thrifting and ridin' high!

"Making Progress"

Moving out one and putting in another

I love the legs on this table

A work in progress

I'm excited to have almost completed this beautiful table I found at the thrift store. All I have left to do is lightly sand the top and hubby can start to paint. It probably takes me a little longer between work and life but I will have something to show for the inconvenience of no dining room soon.

One day I'd love to have a open kitchen area and use this table as a work table for my scale, books and pretty dishes. Oh well Rita...just keep dreaming and perhaps one day it'll all come true. In the meantime happy collecting, thrifting and painting.

Yesterday's Find"

Old saddle

Vintage monogrammed suitcases

Vintage wooden billiard pool scoring beads on a string

Yes...and more dishes.

I thought that a day of browsing might leave me empty handed and then I found these fabulous finds. As we were preparing to grab a bite to eat I check out this antique store next door and noticed a 50% off everything....and BaM... I hit the jackpot. Immediately I spotted this saddle by the front door and thought of my friend Maria whose a gifted photographer...umm perhaps she could use for a prop. Right beside the saddle were these beautiful old monogrammed suitcases and at the counter was the vintage pool scoring beads on a string.

Needless to say the adrenalin was pumping as we drove back home and I was really satisfied these finds for the day and so was my beautiful friend Maria.

So until next time happy collecting, thrifting and collecting.

"Polyvore...For Beginners"

Informal Dining....Blue Farmhouse Style

Beginners? That's me! Polyvore? What's that I ask? Well it's a place where it's members can create image collages called "sets" and you are now viewing my first attempt. I was first contacted by a representative from Chairish a marketplace for vintage online consignment to style the perfect home bar. Again, I was lost because my first thoughts were...but I'm a nondrinker. But that's okay I'll do a nonalcoholic home bar instead I designed what felt most like is representation of my own personal taste just without the price tags!

So cheers to you Rita for your very first try and "to thine own self be true"... thrifting, collecting and decorating with something old, something new and always something blue. Hope to see you again!

"Antique Sofa & Chair"

 The ride home

The attraction...the woodwork

 Antique sofa

Antique chair

Thank you Tommy

Well this is my typical story... I see it, walk away only to return and discover "you snooze..you lose" but fortunately for me when my husband returned (the next day) they were still there. I love the curvy legs and the beautiful ornate curving on this antique sofa and chair... envisioning some tender loving cleaning and reupholstered in a beautiful linen material will make it like new again.

I can imagine these pieces anywhere in a home and now must decide do I sell or keep them. What do you think? It's definitely a toss up with these beautiful Pinterest images racing through my head of the options and possibilities.

So I'll ask my new friend her thoughts, as well as check out materials  and cost. Thanks for dropping by to see my new fabulous finds...until next time happy collecting, thrifting and decorating.
