"Sweet Cherub Mirror"

I'm absolutely in love with this cherub mirror I recently found at the thrift store. Most importantly the flat silver patina color...needs no paint job. It provides a wonderful contrast to the white surrounding colors of my 'home sweet home' sign and brown lettering.

These photos are a result of playing around with my camera settings in the nighttime when I spotted a hint of chandelier in the mirror. This find can be used in many different ways and I have a few up my sleeve...just pop out the mirror and insert a....okay let's hear your ideas!

I adore this little piece and think you would too...so until next time happy collecting and thrift store hunting.

"I Found Another....?"

Lady friend... and that's what I call these beautiful old mannequins. They are hard to find but if you are in the right place at the right time you too can pick one up for a bargain price. I was delighted  to welcome her home and set up right beside my very first vintage lady I found in San Diego.

And just in case you didn't notice my hubby replaced the hands back onto the face of my gold vintage clock that "someone" broke off. Thanks for stopping by and until next time happy collecting, thrifting and finding your own beautiful old mannequin!

"What Now...Blue Farmhouse?"

~ The collector ~

What's does the year 2014 have in store for "The Blue Farmhouse"....I'm not sure? I don't know where to go or what do with my passion for collecting, thrifting and decorating. I feel like a "deer in the headlights" frozen...stuck and uncertain.

However I do know that collecting, thrifting and finding beautiful pieces are things that I'm passionate about. I'm constantly amazed at the all the beautiful pieces [mirrors, furniture, chandeliers, dishes, frames... just to name a few] I have found through the years...not to mentioned the things I've passed up only to return with regret because it's gone. Has that ever happened to you?

I'm sure I'll figure it out... but in the meantime wish me luck and thanks for reading....
